PREMIERE: Metaxas Release Acoustic Version of “Selene”

Next up in our weekly series of premiere, we are teaming up with singer-songwriter Metaxas for the release of his stripped down, acoustic performance of “Selene”.

Selene is the debut single from the multi-talented producer/guitarist/singer/songwriter Metaxas. Metaxas performed Selene for fans on his recent Coalition’s Coffee Sessions and received fantastic feedback. The track was available for free download on April 8th.

“Selene is about someone I met and really fell for, almost in a way that is unhealthy. I was mesmerised and in my attempt to make a connection and try to get closer, I lost control and scared her away. It was at that time that ‘Selene’ kind of poured out of me, one night at 3:00am. I’m pretty sure I sent her the song that night and never got a reply. Selene actually means ‘the moon’ in Greek. The moon is in sight but never in reach, just like Selene”. Metaxas

Born in New York to Cypriot parents, Nik aka Metaxas now calls London his home.  Metaxas’s determination and love of music was rewarded by a place at the internationally recognized Berklee College of Music in Boston where he honed his skills. With musical influences such as John Mayor, Radiohead and Goyte it is no surprise that Nik has mastered a writing style that is honest, sensitive and moving. His raw, expressive lyrics and his graveled, warm voice have a powerful effect. He will be releasing his 5 track EP this summer.
