ANDERS OSBORNE’s Five NOLA Shows This Weekend, New Video “Life Don’t Last That Long” Debuts‏

Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter/guitarist ANDERS OSBORNE has announced plans for the second leg of the Spacedust & Ocean Views tour, kicking off with five shows this weekend in conjunction with his hometown of New Orleans’ Jazz Fest.  His 12th album–Spacedust & Ocean Views, released March 18–is a hauntingly plaintive album of redemption and recovery, an honest musical document from the roots rock veteran.

The new video for Spacedust & Ocean Views’ second single “Life Don’t Last That Long” premiered today (4/22) exclusively via Popmatters.com.  Check it out here.  Asked about the genesis of the song, Anders kept it simple, saying, “I’m always looking for something amazing, so, as I was writing this tune I thought, I better hurry up, before it’s over!”  The album’s first single, “Lafayette,” was revealed exclusively via American Songwriter magazine.  You can hear it here

Anders has been on the road non-stop since kicking off the tour February 11 in Nashville, a trek that has included a sold-out Troubadour in Los Angeles plus shows at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC and the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY.  In a review of the Troubadour show, Jambands.com‘s Larson Sutton said, “The amplified power of Anders Osborne and his group coupled with his acute songwriting ability isn’t the easiest of partnerships to attempt. So much of what makes Osborne appealing is his attention to detail. These details could be overwhelmed by a wash of volume in the hands of an artist less conscientious. Instead, Osborne finds a striking balance of muscle and grace that allows for the smaller moments of quiet to be just as resounding as the sonic booms.”

His five shows in his New Orleans hometown around Jazz Fest will also include a headlining appearance at the Howlin’ Wolf on Saturday, April 30.

Anders Osborne is a map of intensely felt, passionately engaged living, a fractured but healing topography of heartbreak and hope for fellow travelers to explore.  He’s traveled the world, playing guitar along the way and eventually landing in New Orleans, where he started writing and recording, releasing his first album in 1989.
