The S.O.G Crew (Sons of God) is a Hip-Hop group based out of Anaheim, CA that has been around since the late 90’s. They have performed at schools, prisons, rehabs, churches, night clubs, community events, featured in movies and so much more while on this journey of musical revolution inspiring the masses along the way in just about every major city and Native American community in the United States. Of late they have worked in Los Angeles county promoting academics thru creative expressions program successfully using live Hip Hop performances in schools and community presentations to capture the interest of students while delivering positive messages thanks to Thomas Heck and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. By cooperating in a joint effort they have managed to reduce the crime in communities with high crime and violence. When they are not rescuing communities from the hard urban issues you can find them empowering and sponsoring young ladies in pageantry thanks to Miss NOHO Productions Inc. Amanda Lee Wasvary and Tara Rice founder of the Miss West Coast Pageant.
“We want to thank all those that helped us on this project. Fighting 4 Love is by far our the best album that we have ever made. The entire group definitely brought their A game while creating this masterpiece. Greg Leonti and Tito Rodriguez are the only producers that I like to use. Leonti brought the dance style while my childhood friend Tito Rodriguez (Snoop Dogg) brought the heavy bottoms. Both producers helped us create the anthem style of music that so many of our fans have enjoyed for years. Geoff Gibbs (The Game, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Michael Jackson) engineered most of the music. His mix has kept our music ahead of the game for a long time to come. Big Bottom Bob Lanzner (Bob Marley, Snoop Dogg, Michael Jackson) from Technovoice Mastering put his expertise on this project.
I can not just end the credits there. Many thanks to Thump Records owner Bill Walker and former Lowrider Magazine owner Albert Lopez for bringing us in to the Walk-Low ASCAP Publishing Company. Bill Walker is organizing a National college and radio tour for our new release. He has already scheduled us for an interview on 99.1 KGGI The IE’s Hottest Music with Chicano Hip Hop legend ODM from A Lighter Shade of Brown.
Album is definitely versatile with reggae, Hip Hop, dance, rock and Latin styles. This album is amazing with so many messages of hope. Songs like “Got To Believe” inspire people never to give up, “California” has a message of our California constitution, “Fighting 4 Love” has us reaching out to those that feel hopeless and so on. They all have so much meaning to us. The song “Let’s Change The World” is a good one. The song is about the many doors that have opened to us but how we refuse to walk thru them unless our loved ones come with us. It truly is a real story of reconciliation with those that started with us from our beginning. I learned it from reading the bible. There was a young man named David that never left any of his men out that grew weak from the long battles. This example has taught me to reward the strong and faint hearted even in Hip Hop,” announced Ornelas.
