Coachella Becomes a World of Augmented Reality with LUCENT DOSSIER EXPERINCE Featuring 3D Live‏

This past weekend’s Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, CA received an extra dose of sensory exhilaration with an immersive virtual environment from a performance by LUCENT DOSSIER EXPERIENCE.  On Friday, April 15 the world-renowned, innovative performance collective celebrated their 11-year run at the festival by closing out the Sahara stage with its cirque style show that blended avant-garde theatrics, high fashion stylings and electronic rock into a mind-bending sensory extravaganza. The use of 3D Live’s technology and design allowed them to augment reality in ways the audience never thought possible, seemingly defying the laws of existence. Look for LUCENT DOSSIER EXPERIENCE with 3D Live to appear again at Coachella this Friday, April 22.

The last act of the night in the Sahara tent (on April 15) consisted of 14 songs, each piece a unique offering set to music composed and performed by LUCENT DOSSIER EXPERIENCE.  From a trio of aerialists floating on a sacred Merkaba apparatus to high-energy dance hall performers and other-worldly aliens spinning through a vortex called The StarGate to the show closer “Set Me Free,” a vocal number encompassing the entire group of Lucent performers, the LUCENT DOSSIER EXPERIENCE featuring 3D LIVE is a one-of-a-kind spectacle at Coachella.  View the “Violin Song” performance here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ7e5Yil9mk

Called “the future of the light show,” by the Los Angeles Times, 3D Live has soared to become the leader in pioneering technology that is changing live entertainment. The genesis of 3D Live began on the set of James Cameron’s “Avatar” where the company’s founders first began working in S3D technologies. Following this, members of 3D Live designed the world’s first 3D LED wall for Michael Jackson’s This is It Project.

“It’s been an amazing journey collaborating with 3D Live on their brand new 3D LED technology, says Dream Rockwell, LUCENT DOSSIER EXPERIENCE’s Creative Director & Founder.  ” It’s easy to see that this technology will eventually be used by many artists around the world to tell stories and evoke emotions.  For us, it feels like an incredible tool as we love to transport audiences into other worlds & experiences.”

“At the time, this type of technology was only accessible to someone at Michael Jackson’s level,” says Ryan Pardeiro, Chief Operating Officer for 3D Live. “We asked ourselves, what can we do to make this technology more accessible? That’s why we created 3D Live, to make a turnkey solution that offers everything you need to create a live 3D show.”

“Our immersive 3D technology allows the performer to be surrounded by holographic-like visualizations and interact with it,” continues Nathan Huber, Chief Executive Officer for 3D Live. “It’s more than a light show. It’s a trip to an augmented reality. We create entire virtual environments that could never exist in normal physical space. And that enables us to actually change set design techniques by introducing virtual objects, even create virtual rooms that can surround performers on stage. Anything you can imagine can be created in a virtual environment for the audience.”
