Veteran drummer, Jonathan Ellinghaus, comes out from behind the drumset to unveil his singer-songwriter persona, Miles East. He premieres his debut single, “The Hard Part,” for you here. This song is his first release from the Miles East debut album, Ghosts of Hope, set to release later this summer. LISTEN TO “THE HARD PART” HERE
Ellinghaus spent most of his childhood summers on the beaches of Ocean City, Maryland, and the impact of the northeast shore aesthetic has not only remained important in his life, it’s carried into his songwriting as well. Ellinghaus developed his drumming chops early and has been consistently sought after for studio recordings and national tours by esteemed artists. He’s recorded and performed alongside countless major-label and indie-music figures, in a range as diverse as the legend Lesley Gore, alternative star Janita, and even the members of David Letterman’s CBS Orchestra. After years as a studio and touring musician, Ellinghaus has taken a step into the spotlight––and into the studio––recording his own original songs as well as a haunting version of Led Zeppelin’s “That’s The Way,” to complete his debut album. He teamed up with New York indie-music luminary and label owner, Blake Morgan, who recorded, produced, and performs on the album.
