SoundTrack Cologne 13 is looking for young and upcoming composers and sound designers for the 2016 EUROPEAN TALENT COMPETITION

SoundTrack_Cologne is organizing the EUROPEAN TALENT COMPETITION again in 2016 – a competition for the best short film soundtrack by young composers and sound designers in the category of WDR FILMSCORE AWARD and SOUND DESIGN. They are looking for independent and original interpretational approaches to narrative and picture level support. There are no stylistic restrictions. What matters most is the creation of a unique world of music and sound.

Contestants may work together as a composer and sound designer team.

The winner of the WDR FILMSCORE AWARD receives the opportunity to record their original composition with the WDR Funkhausorchester Cologne.  For many young composers this could be their first opportunity to record with a top orchestra and to utilise this as their film-score business card.

The award recipient for best SOUNDDESIGN receives a 5.1 cinematic mixing session in a prestigious sound mixing studio in Germany.

Entry deadline for the competition is June 17, 2016.

In context of SoundTrack_Cologne, twelve finalists and their works will be presented to the jury and audience at the festival Saturday, August 27, 2016. The award ceremony takes place within the framework of the official gala evening on August 27, 2016.

The contest is open to all active students in the fields of sound, music and/or composition at a European film or music school (without age limit) or young creatives up to 30 years of age.
