Hi Leondro, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I have been fantastic!!  Working hard and having a great time.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Super Big”?

Super Big is my thanks to my great mom.  As a child I never realized how much she sacrificed for me and how much that influenced who I am today.  I was no angel, and things could have went in a really bad direction, but through all of it, my mom was always there pushing me to do better.  It’s because of her that I am the man you see today, and I want the world to be inspired to do  bigger and better things in life.  I want everyone to “KEEP DREAMING SUPER BIG”.  I really hope this song inspires people to do that.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

Yes, unfortunately when I was 19, I had a run in with the police and I thank god that I wasn’t convicted.  I truly felt that this was a life changing event.  I didn’t want to be that, I didn’t want to  be another kid that grew up in social housing being a punk on the street.  I wanted more.  It was that day, that I decided to change my life, and I did.  I have never looked back.  I live a good honest life and work my ass off everyday to do better.  I’m so happy with who I am and Super Big is my way of letting people know that the too can dream big and change their lives for the better.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Yes, look for the video to be released around the end of April.  I am so proud of this project.  It is truly my life story.  It was shot in Toronto by Nick and Charmaine of Ennkay Digital.  It is going to blow your mind!!  This is a piece of art that I can’t wait to show my fans.

What was it like to work with Yoko Gold and how did that relationship develop?

Yoko has been a friend for quite some time.  I know his family well and we all record at the same sound studio.  Yoko is an amazing talent as is his brother Tory Lanez.  It’s really a thrill to be able to work with  someone as talented as Yoko Gold, but he’s also a real solid guy.  I look forward to doing more work with him in the future.

How was the recording and writing process?

This song was a challenge.  I knew exactly how I wanted it to be, and sometimes that’s a blessing and a curse.  It had to be perfect.  I actually wrote the song, recorded it and wasn’t happy with certain parts of it.  I  had to walk away from it for a few months.  I wanted it to be just right and was overworking it.  After I took a bit of a break from it, I came back to it, and it all just flowed out so flawlessly.  I’m really proud of this song.

How has your personal struggles have influence your music and yourself as an artist?

My personal struggles have made me a stronger person.  As an artist, life experiences are the best source of music.  I can write with passion, as the issues have meaning to me.  I think this is evident in my music.  I think you can feel my pain, my happiness or even my love for the important people in my life.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new track?

I’m always writing new tracks.  There is definitely a lot more music coming from me.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

New tracks will be released in starting in May.  Release dates are posted on my website:  www.leondromusic.com.  Fans that sign up for my newsletter, will be the first to know of all my new release for both songs and videos, and also will be notified of upcoming performances.

Any plans to hit the road?

Definitely.  A lot of things are in the works right now.  Show dates will be posted on my website

What else is happening next in Leondro’s world?
