VANESSA CARLTON Unveils Remix of “Nothing Where Something Used To Be” – Available Now!‏

Vanessa Carlton has released a remix single of her track Nothing Where Something Used To Be, an elated track that builds to a vibrant chorus and perfectly showcases Vanessa’s euphonious vocal. The remix is accompanied by a mesmerizing video featuring Vanessa herself, PRESS HERE to watch and PRESS HERE to purchase on iTunes.

The remix of Nothing Where Something Used To Be is a brand new standalone single, which was remixed by the album’s UK producer Steve Osborne. The version that made it on to her latest critically acclaimed album Liberman (Dine Alone Records) can be heard here, PRESS HERE.

“Steve and I experimented a lot while we were exploring the palette of what Liberman should be,” says Vanessa. “We looked at this as an experiment and when we moved on to the next chunk of songs this version didn’t fit on the album. I was doing my dance workout one day a couple months ago and this version of the song was way deep on a playlist and popped up. I really loved it but had forgotten about this attempt. I sent the song to my manager and he was like we gotta release this! So here we are.”

“As for the visual (PRESS HERE) I asked my friend Colin Devin Moore to create a visual for it and he came up with this video concept,” says Vanessa. I basically sang into a camera one morning on tour and he created what you see here. I love the attention to detail in the video. And the edit is really beautiful and perfectly links with arrangement of the song. This is a world I like to dip into every now and then.”

Fans were given a first taste of her new album with the EP Blue Pool, which included tracks “Take It Easy” and “Blue Pool” that were featured on the upcoming album as well as “Operator (Live Living Room Session)” and “Nothing Where Something Used To Be (Live Living Room Session)” were featured on the deluxe version. The deluxe version of the album was released the same day featuring a complete collection of Live Living Room Sessions, PRESS HERE.  The ten songs from Liberman reflect Vanessa’s current state of mind since moving from NYC to Nashville, marrying husband John McCauley (Deer Tick) and having a baby girl.  The simple instrumentation mixed with her wistful vocals and poignant lyrics bring you into her world and showcase a new side to this accomplished songwriter.
