Cloud Cult Announce Additional Film Festival Dates of “The Seeker,” Including Sarasota Film Festival Today!‏

“The Seeker” is a story of Grace, a daughter whose idyllic life is turned upside-down by immense tragedy.  As she grows older, her cynicism and apathy towards her new reality is challenged by a reminder from the past that sets her on a pilgrimage that will define her.

We are very excited to announce additional film festival dates for Cloud Cult’s new film, The Seeker:

Sarasota Film Festival (4/8 & 4/9) w / Actor Josh Radnor + Director Jeff D. Johnson

Phoenix Film Festival (4/8, 4/10 & 4/11)

MSP International Film Festival (4/13 & 4/15)

The Seeker film was written by Cloud Cult’s Craig Minowa and stars Radnor (Mercy Street, How I Met Your Mother) along with Alex McKenna (What Women Want).

The feature length narrative film is the visual counterpart for the band’s latest full-length studio album which was released on February 12th via Earthology Records.  The album made Entertainment Weekly’s “Must List” – coming in at #5 the week of release and the magazine caught up with Cloud Cult’s Craig Minowa that same week to talk about the film, which you can read HERE.

The Seeker LP has found love at radio, landing at #1 at over a dozen stations nationally including Minnesota Public Radio’s The Current – where the album has been charting at #1 for so many weeks it has landed in the station’s Hall of Fame as well as earning the “Album of the Week” feature on February 15th.  The Seeker was the #4 most added album in March at college radio, coming in at #16 on the CMJ Top 200 with “Days to Remember” currently getting the most spins nationally.

In addition, The Seeker film has been showing at select “SNEAK PEEK” viewings across the US and various film festivals.  It won the “BEST OF FEST” in the Visual Music category at the Speechless Film Festival, Michael Dunaway, director of programming for the Sarasota Film Festival, named The Seeker as one of the top 8 films not to miss this year, saying “The Seeker is an hour-long narrative film produced by and starring Josh Radnor. ‘What makes the film unusual,’ Dunaway said, ‘is that it has no dialogue. The only sounds come from music by the band Cloud Cult. But,’ Dunaway said,’ the silent storytelling is expertly done. It sounds strange to say, but you don’t miss the dialogue,’” and Jason Carney, the executive director of the Phoenix Film Festival, picked The Seeker as one of the “10 Don’t Miss Movies” (out of more than 150) in his interview with the Arizona Republic.
