Hailing from Florence, Italy, production/DJ duo Ckrono & Slesh have championed global club music with their fusion of dub, UK funky, Afro house, baile funk, and more. Now, the pair are returning with a six-track EP of genre-bending sound called ‘Kayapo.’ Out April 4via the group’s imprint Voodoo Rebel, ‘Kayapo‘ is a quintessential club record that has a little bit of every culture spliced in. From trap-leaning “Goldfishing” to hip-hop cut “Vodka Tonic,” ‘Kayapo‘ flexes the pairs ability to masterfully execute a number of sonic styles with expert skill.
Ckrono is the first Italian moombahton producer, and Slesh one of the first jungle DJs in Italy, started teaming up in 2011, performing in neverending back2back DJ sets and producing tracks together. From 2012, their sound has evolved to encompass a number of styles including Juke, Footwork, Trap and Hardstyle, while still maintaining a clear musical identity. Their debut “Railways” EP was released on Meanbucket (and remixed by Clap Clap, Dj Edgar, Nobel, The Clerk, Fuuku, Ackeejuice Rockers and more Their next single, “Hebe” found a home at Branko’s Lisbon label Enchufada where it found international success as part of the Upper Cuts series.
Kicking off 2016, Ckrono & Slesh were selected as remixers for the stacked Fania Records Calentura: Global Bassmentcompilation joining Major Lazer’s Jillionaire, Bomba Estereo, Branko, Tropkillaz, and more.
