STARS Reveal Cover of “Wonderful Life” by Colin Vearncombe, Listen + Share; Recording New Album Now‏

Toronto’s Stars have now revealed their third of twelve cover tracks this year, with March’s song of choice being “Wonderful Life”. The song was originally an international hit for English singer/songwriter Colin Vearncombe aka Black. While the original has a Morrissey-inspired jazz feel, Stars’s version taps into an electro-pop sound with Amy Millan’s light, breathy vocal gently guiding it along. Listen their version HERE.

“Our cover this month is of a song by Colin Vearncombe, AKA Black, a fantastic songwriter, who died much too early last month, at 53, in a tragic car accident,” explains Stars lead vocalist Torquil Campbell. “We love this song and wanted to pay tribute to a great artist who you may not be familiar with. We hope you go and find his work, and we send this out with love to him and his family. Thanks for the music. Colin! There’s nothing like a great melody to remind us that no one is lost.”

Stars are currently in the studio working on a new album and are playing the below shows this summer.
