Paper Lions Release New Song “Call Back”‏

This year has been jam-packed for Canadian indie pop group Paper Lions.  Following the onslaught of new single/video “Believer”, the announcement of the upcoming LP Full Colour, and multiple performances at SXSW, the four-piece have just released “Call Back”, the second single off their hotly anticipated third album, set to be released late spring via Fountain Pop Records.

From the beginning, “Call Back” drags listeners in with thunderous claps and an infectious beat.  Paper Lions has tastefully infused their new song with a toe-tapping power pop while still staying close to their indie rock roots with jazzy guitar solos and dynamic vocals.  Upbeat and catchy, the song exemplifies the band’s newly revamped, pop-infused version of their classic sound.  The band’s stylistic shift stems from their desire to create a thoroughly dazzling, unforgettable live experience.

In 2010, Paper Lions released their debut EP, Trophies, as a free download, crashing their website in the process; it received 130,000 hits and 25,000 downloads.  This bold start sparked a career that has resulted in 24 East Coast Music Association nominations and multiple Music PEI nominations (with ten wins!); their reach has been further expanded with opening slots for CAKE, Tokyo Police Club, Hollerado, Hot Hot Heat, and even the one and only Cirque du Soleil in Shanghai.  A North American tour is in the works – stay tuned to find out where you can catch a show you’ll be talking about for days afterwards.
