INTERVIEW: Hungover | RIYL: Seaway, Farewell Fighter

-Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
We’ve been a busy bunch! We’re working harder and doing better than ever!

-Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Girlfriend”?
Well, “Girlfriend” is definitely a step out for us. We’ve evolved in more ways than one and we wanted to put out a song that set the tone for “The New Hungover.”

-Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
It was actually a series of events with a few different people. The song is more about the recurring nature of certain relationships.

-What was it like filming the video?
It was an absolute dream. Joe [Desantis] is nothing short of brilliant! It was a long and tiring shoot, but we feel that all of our work paid off!

-How has having a new vocalist affected the band’s style and sound?
When our old vocalist left, we decided to keep moving forward as we were. We all play a role vocally now and that makes songwriting a little more interesting. The sound was changing regardless of who was singing, but the change in vocals definitely added a different variable that we think makes us a little more unique than we were before.

-Does the new single mean we can expect a new record? How’s that coming along?
We’ve been hard at work in the studio! There’s a lot of material we’re working on that is some of the best music we’ve ever put together. Whether that turns into a few singles, an EP, or an LP is up in the air, but it’s safe to say that you can expect more material soon.

-Any tentative release date or title in mind?
We’ve been flirting with some ideas, but nothing solid yet.

-Any plans to hit the road?
We’ve begun rehearsing our new songs and we’re hoping to be tearing up the stage again this summer. Hopefully we’ll be coming to a city near you sooner rather than later!

-What else is happening next in Hungover’s world?
A lot more hard work. Writing, recording, rehearsing, and getting tighter as an overall unit. We’re just getting started. The goal is to be the best band we can be.
