Los Angeles-based Decorations are excited to share the video for their single “Girls,” the title track their debut EP released last Fall on Frenchkiss Records. The video was shot by Ronny Rose in a friend of the band’s apartment in Van Nuys, CA No doubt adding to the party vibe, shooting took place on a sweltering 100 degree day outside with a broken AC inside. Watch here.
Further, Decorations have confirmed usage of the single on ABC’s critically acclaimed show Quantico. It will be used in an episode set to air on March 13.
The band are also excited to confirm a show at Los Angeles‘ Hi Hat on March 16. The venue is located at 5043 York Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90042.
Decorations is led by frontman Devon Geyer who has been playing music his entire life. Yet it wasn’t until a particularly painful breakup that he began crafting songs for what has become Decorations. With an equally catchy, cheeky, and clever sound, the music lithely moves between sunny melodies, danceable synths, and bright guitars. He puts it best, “This is like new wave without all the sadness.”
Of the single Geyer says he is putting a magnifying glass on today’s “hit and quit it” culture explaining, “‘Girls’ is forcing yourself to accept a better standard even though you’ve grown accustomed to society’s standards of vapid hookups. It’s a rejection of the culture of settling for a shitty relationship.”
