Hello guys! I am well thankyou! I have been quite busy recently which is always good because I hate doing nothing!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Wait For Me”?
So, my new single ‘Wait For Me’ came out on the 26th of February. It’s had a lot of love all over the UK which has felt amazing to me! Also, the single hit 10,000 views in just less than 10 days which was a big achievement for my career so far. I am also extremely appreciative of everyone who has taken the time to listen to the song and purchase it on iTunes.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
The song was mainly written about a few different aspects from things that have happened to me in past relationships, but also stories from friends who have had similar relationship struggles. I tend to never make anything up when writing a song – this is purely just because when I sing a song live I like to put emotion into to it and thinking of these experiences helps a lot; it also makes it easier to fit lyrics to my music.
How was the film experience?
It was so much fun to film! When the band and I were on tour we just filmed pretty much everything we did and when it came around to trying to think of a good music video to fit the single we thought about all of the footage that we had and thought people might find it interesting to see what goes on in the back of a van on a long journey or backstage before a show.
The single comes off your new EP Labels – what’s the story behind the title?
The single is not on the E.P
How was the recording and writing process?
This song was fairly fast to write! compared to other songs as it normally takes me weeks to write one. I found a really nice chord progression and then started to sing a melody over the top and the lyrics just came out! This type of writing proses is new to me! Recording was so much fun as I was able to hear the song come to life and everything that I had in my head came alive.
So why changing sounds on this record?
I really wanted to write a much more upbeat summer tune to play live at gigs just purely so that i can get the audience up and dancing and more involved and hope they have a better time at a Connah Evans show! I think it has worked well so far.
Any plans to hit the road?
Yes, there are a lot of things going on for me this year! I have recently been chosen as one of the 12 Horizons through the BBC and will be recording a session down in the Maida Vale at the end of the year which I am extremely looking forward to. I will also be playing lots of big festivals over the summer as well as going on a ‘Wait For Me’ tour.
What else is happening next in Connah Evans’ world?
Next on my list is to hopefully write more music and tour more and hope to also build up my fan-base as I go along. This year is going to be very exciting for myself and my fans and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
