His new album was fully recorded and at the last-minute the ‘Popular’ singer decided it was time for a change. So today we can confirm the collaboration between Eric Saade and State Of Sound – with brothers Viktor and Gustaf Norén (ex Mando Diao).
Victor Norén started the music project, State Of Sound together with Joakim Andrén. The duo had just started working on ’Higher Love’, and the choice of the guest artist fell on Gustaf Norén. This was the brothers first joint music collaboration and the first song from newly established State Of Sound. Then came a humble request to enter the studio with Eric Saade – completely unbiased.
The collaboration with Eric Saade and State of sound will be called ‘Colors’
“Eric was on such of high level, both as a performer and songwriter, the creative process was quite natural, like a game. There was no balance of power between the artist and songwriters. It was like when dogs meet each other and begin to play, the most natural thing in the world.” – says Gustaf Norén about working with Eric.
“I was not happy with what I was doing, I refused to release the album. Everything has just ground on for several years and it has gone well, but I felt I lost the urge. I was on tour last summer and had no fun. It did not satisfy me”
Eric Saade describes ’Colors’ as a transition. – The first single will be seen as a transition. It starts from the pop with a hint of indie. We have mixed in a little 80’s and gone back a bit. Quite a dirty text, nothing sounds ideal, it is also the idea. I want to do something that satisfies me, I have not sat and thought “this is going to sell.” Now we do it we want to listen to before we go to bed at night. What is Colors on?”
It receives it’s first play on Swedish radio P3 this week and it will be released on digital retailers on March 18th.
Await the release of ‘Colors’ and the new sounding Eric.
