INTERVIEW: Seven Stories High

1) Hi guys welcome to vents, how are you ?
Thank you, we are very glad to be here.

2) What can you tell us about your latest single That’s No Moon. /Working For Wednesday’s?
That’s no moon was one of the last songs we wrote for the EP. It refers to something we all know about and experienced in our school days, bullying. It’s a call out to anyone who has been bullied or is being bullied to say that we have been through it, stand up for yourself and it will work out, because it always has for us.

Working for Wednesdays was written fairly soon after the birth of the band. It’s a just a shout out really to our friends, and a play on working for the weekend, as we were too cheap to go out on a Saturday, so we waited for Wednesday and student night instead. The basic cliché pop punk song really, but it means a lot to us as a group of friends and a band.

3) Can you tell us about the music video?
The music video for working for Wednesday is something we are excited about, we don’t want to give too much away but we hope it to be the first in a three part series of videos that will come later. Like a lot of what we do, it’s a DIY job but we have had so much fun making it that we can’t wait to share it.

4) Story behind album’s title?
The story behind a long road home is a strange one. We wanted to involve the fans in this EP as much as possible, so we actually came up with three names we loved, and then on our fundraiser show for the EP, have everyone who attended the option to vote for 1, and that is the one that won. It comes from us growing as a band and also links into certain meanings of the songs.

We have all played in lots of bands, three of us together since we were 11 and through that the band has changed so much, but we have finally found a place, style, and members that work perfectly together.

5) What role does FYS and ADTR plays in your music?
They are great bands, and two we love. They don’t play too much of an integral part while they may serve as one of many influences we use in our music, they aren’t the be all and end all of what we write off. Our influences come from movies, comics, songs, memories and anything we take a real interest in. While they are great bands, they aren’t are our main or only influence by a long shot.

6) Tour?
We are hoping to move about a bit and meet some of the people who are the moment we only know by their @username. But there are no firm plans as of yet, but once we know, we will be way too excited to sit on it so keep tuned in.

7) Next?
We are writing new stuff all the time, working on new videos, new merch, new stage shows and ideas. At the moment we are just enjoying ourselves and hoping to share that with anyone who is willing to listen.
