In May 2015, his remix with YGSP of Rihanna’s BBHMM (“B*tch Better Have My Money”) won TWRK’s remix contest and was featured on BBC Radio 1’s Diplo & Friends show. To date, the song has received over one million plays on YouTube. SHINTARO followed in December with the release of his debut EP CHOPPER on the Trekkie Trax imprint. The EP premiered on the NestHQ music site and featured tracks co-produced with top Japanese bass music artists including Masayoshi Iimori and Habanero Posse.

SHINTARO came up through the ranks via several DJ battles, winning three grand prizes at Vestax’s No Tricks DJ Battle competition and became the No Tricks Japan/Korea Champion at the Seoul World DJ Festival. In 2013, he achieved a milestone in DJ history by becoming the youngest ever RED BULL Thre3style World Champion. He was also the first ever DJ not from the host country to win, the first Japanese, and the first Asian to win the competition.

The following year, SHINTARO performed on the main stage at the Japanese leg of the world’s largest dance music festival, Ultra Japan. He’s also been featured at popular outdoor festivals such as the Amsterdam-based Encore Festival and has played extensively across Asia, including appearances in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Shanghai and Beijing. In Japan, he’s played alongside artists such as Diplo, Ookay, Kill The Noise, Jauz, Tropkillaz, 4B, Ape Drums and MUST DIE!, as well as opened for Steve Aoki’s 2015 Japan Tour in Tokyo.

SHINTARO is poised and ready to show the world what he’s all about. On Wednesday, March 9 he will perform a private showcase for industry and press in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles and he will be available for bookings May 9-June 14 and July 12-December 9.
