Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hi there! Very well thanks.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Radio Noises”?

Yeah sure! It’s a song which we think showcases the band well and works good as a first single. It shows off our grungy sound, our love for all things space, and our shoegaze influence a little too. We made the video using lots of found footage from 60’s/70’s NASA tapes that were available for use on public domain, it was pretty fun.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

I don’t think so! It’s part of a concept album, so it is just part of the story. I guess all in all it’s a song about losing contact, in the songs case, it’s a couple of astronauts losing contact with Houston while floating away in space. It could be linked to losing contact in any way the listener sees fit however.

How was the recording and writing process?

I (Scott) wrote the song on an acoustic guitar in my bedroom, the song takes massive influence from 90’s alt rock bands, it was wrote in about 10 minutes, I didn’t really like it that much for a while, then I went back to it a few weeks later and loved it…

The recording of the guitars was extremely loud, everything was recorded at a college, so it was a case of constantly disturbing and annoying people. Nobody at my college (Scott) likes me anymore because of the recording of this album, it was pretty stressful.

What role does Kurt Corbain and X Files plays a in your music?

Kurt Cobain is a pretty big influence, I think it’s hard to be in a band that take big influence from 90’s music and not have some influence from nirvana. He was a pretty amazing character, I would loved to have met him. The X files plays a HUGE influence on our album we have recorded, it was written while in isolation for an entire summer watching it, so hopefully X files fans will be able to see a link in some places.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s that coming along?

An album will be along eventually, we have all of it done. We’re just taking it steady releasing stuff, we want to try and build some more hype and get some more fans before releasing a full blown album, there’s a likely to be another single and an EP released before it, we have plenty in store…

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

A release date is not confirmed yet, we’re trying to get on a label at the minute to release it on! We do have a title, but all in good time hahaha!

Any plans to hit the road?

Eventually yes! We’ve applied for a huge amount of festivals over the summer and hopefully we will be booking some shows around the UK, we’ll see what happens.

What else is happening next in Moon Rover’s world?

Lot’s of gig planning, work with PR, trying to get labels interested, planning for our next single (and video, which will be a fun one), lots to be done!
