The Minneapolis-based band, Grayshot will release their sophomore album Borders, on April 1, 2016 and the album is now available for pre-order on iTunes. After two years of touring in support of their debut, the trio went back into the studio to begin work on Borders. The 11-track album was written, recorded and mixed by Grayshot with additional production by Ben West (Matt Nathanson) and mastering by Huntley Miller (Tallest Man On Earth, Poliça). To celebrate the release, the band partnered with PopWrapped who will be giving fans a taste of what’s to come with the premiere of their first single, “Far From Me.” The song will go live tomorrow afternoon and will be available at iTunes. The trio have plans to hit the road again in support of the release and will be previewing material from the album in Austin later this month. All performances are listed below and additional tour dates will be announced shortly.
Grayshot is made up of Aaron Ankrum (vocals, guitar, keys), Christian Ankrum (bass, keys, vocals) and Reese Kling (drums). Over the past two years, the alternative pop band have been steadily touring the US and parts of the UK/Europe in support of their self-produced, debut album Stay/Go. The band has both headlined shows and opened for the likes of Switchfoot, Empires, The Boxer Rebellion and Citizens!. Both their debut album and Borders were written, recorded and produced out of their Minneapolis studio. Working in their own space allows the band to take time with their writing and recording, to create songs that are a rare hybrid of indie depth and heart with a large-audience ready sound. Having received incredible response from both fans and press, the band has also seen an incredible amount of success with placements of their songs across TV and film. You’ve probably heard their songs and didn’t even realize it on shows such as “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” in commercials for Buick, CBS college football and also, in the UK feature film, “Love Me Do.”
