Atlantic recording group Death Cab for Cutie has unveiled a new series of US live dates, including headline shows and major festival appearances. The co-headline dates –with CHVRCHES and guests Pure Bathing Culture – begin June 7th at Cleveland, OH’s Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica and then stop at Canandaigua, NY’s Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (June 8th), St. Augustine, FL’s St. Augustine Amphitheatre (June 14th), Charleston, SC’s Volvo Car Open Stadium (June 15th), and Charlotte, NC’s Uptown Amphitheatre at NC Music Factory (June 16th). Death Cab for Cutie has also announced top-billed performances at a number of top US summer festivals: West Palm Beach, FL’s SunFest (April 29th), Napa, CA’s BottleRock Napa Valley (May 28th), New York, NY’s Governors Ball Music Festival (June 5th), Manchester, TN’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival (June 9th-12th), Dover, DE’s Firefly Music Festival (June 16th-19th), Louisville, KY’s Forecastle 2016 (July 15th-17th) and Birmingham, AL’s Sloss Music and Arts Festival (July 16th & 17th).
Meanwhile, Death Cab for Cutie is currently wrapping a hugely successful tour of Australia/New Zealand and Southeast Asia, set to visit Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines, where the iconic band will headline Manila’s annual Wanderland Festival on March 5th. Next on the agenda is a major Canadian co-headline tour alongside Metric. The “Lights On The Horizon” Tour gets underway March 19th at Montreal, QC’s Bell Centre and then travels through an April 1st finale at Vancouver, BC’s Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre. As if all that weren’t enough, Death Cab for Cutie has scheduled additional US headline shows at Orlando, FL’s Hard Rock Live (April 28th) and Missoula, MT’s Adams Center (May 6th).
The upcoming live dates will be heralded by the new single, “Good Help (Is So Hard To Find),” featured on Death Cab for Cutie’s widely praised album, “KINTSUGI.” The album was recently honored with a “Best Rock Album” nomination for the 58th Annual GRAMMY® Awards – the iconic band’s eighth overall nod.
Death Cab for Cutie currently features the core membership of singer/guitarist Ben Gibbard, bassist Nick Harmer, and drummer Jason McGerr augmented by new touring members Dave Depper (Menomena, Fruit Bats, Corin Tucker, Ray Lamontagne) and Zac Rae (My Brightest Diamond, Fiona Apple, Lana Del Rey, Gnarls Barkley), both of whom contribute additional guitars and keyboards.
