PREMIERE: Buzzing Icelandic Electro Rockers CeaseTone Use Animation to Tackle Mental Health in Captivating “Bright Side” Video; Band to Debut at 2016 SXSW

VENTS is kicking off another great with an exciting premiere by VENTS’ alumnis CeaseTone for the premiere of their fun yet depressing and creative new music video for their single “Bright Side”.

According to Þráinsson, the figure in the “Bright Side” video goes through an interpretation of mental struggle, “looking for the bright side which seems to be visible, but is always just out of reach.” Þráinsson had the concept for the video, but didn’t know anyone who could complete the project in time: “I did, however, know how to cut out paper and take pictures with a camera, so I figured I could just make it analog stop motion. I used that to my advantage in getting a raw and humble visualisation of a concept that came straight from the heart.”

CeaseTone are comprised of Hafsteinn Þráinsson (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Sólrún Mjöll Kjartansdóttir (drums), Jökull Brynjarsson (synths, samples, keyboard), and Steinar Karlsson (bass).

CeaseTone will perform several showcases at SXSW and are available for pre-festival interviews. More information on CeaseTone is available on their official website.
