Dartmouth Student and Singer-Songwriter Releases New EP‏

22-year-old singer-songwriter Matthew Mirliani released his newest EP “This is a concept EP written in a dorm room” on SoundCloud on February 14, 2016. Mirliani is a senior at Dartmouth College.

Mirliani wrote the three-track EP electronically, and recorded it within his dormitory. Mirliani explained that he was focused on conveying emotions through the songs, and that the actual story conveyed in the EP was up to interpretation. He was particularly inspired by the Route 1 highway as a setting for the story.

Drawing influence from Donald Fagen’s album The Nightfly, Mirliani ventures to capture a nostalgic, “suburban” sound with his music, but hopes to expand his songwriting into different territory in the near future.

Mirliani’s album is available to stream on SoundCloud at: https://soundcloud.com/matthewmirliani/sets/this-is-a-concept-ep-written-in-a-dorm-room-ep
