Warp Brothers & WolfPack Release “Phatt Bass”

Chances are, you probably recognise the sounds of ‘Phatt Bass’ from watching the opening scene of ‘Blade.’ Over 15 years later, the iconic riff lives on as Warp Brothers and Wolfpack collaborate to revamp this classic dance track. It’s just been released by ‘Smash the House’ – the label founded by Belgian duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, – and currently sits in the Beatport Electro House chart at #16. Boasting a brooding, dark music video that connotes the cinematic outlook of the tracks infamous sample, Phatt Bass 2016 is very much here.

The track structures itself around that iconic riff – a sound that has formed the basis of a legendary, seminal dance anthem. Hypnotising build-ups lead on to devastating drops throughout the synthesised mayhem. The pulsating bass-heavy beat will guarantee the track gets played across the clubbing circuit, leaving pundits punching the sky. It’s a reminiscent experiment of hard house music, appealing to both the younger and older generation, expect a classic dance sound with a contemporary electronic edge.

Formed in 1999, the Warp Brothers achieved what the contemporaries now dream of, headlining festivals and club nights across the globe. Following a five-year break from the studio and behind the decks, the Warp Brothers have so far smashed their comeback. Through playing at Australia’s Summer Session Festival and having heavy remix responsibilities, their silence has been well and truly shattered with ‘Phatt Bass.’ With a helping hand from WolfPack there’s no stopping this tune.
