Kawehi (@iamkawehi) Kicks Off 2016 With A New EP and Tour‏

Kawehi is gearing up for a busy 2016. The Lawrence, KS based singer just announced the release of her next EP, Interaktiv, and has plans to hit the road this spring in support. Working with the team at Kickstarter, Kawehi launched her campaign for Interaktiv on April 7, 2015 and within an hour, she had not only reached her goal but surpassed it. By the end of the campaign, she had reached more than 10x her original goal. As with all of her releases, Interaktiv was recorded at Kawehi’s home studio in Lawrence, KS. The 7-track EP will be available on her website on February 24, 2016 and is her most collaborative EP to date, with the backer having a say in everything. Through surveys on Kickstarter and Interaktiv backer voting, the fans helped create this EP by having an input on song subjects, titles, artwork, and more. Kawehi will be touring in support of the EP and will kick things off in Vancouver on March 19. The tour will run through May and will take the singer across the U.S. hitting Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Nashville, New York, Boston and more. All tour dates are listed below.

Kawehi is also being featured as part of Intel’s new ad campaign, “Experience Amazing.” The singer is spotlighted as a real life example of how breakthrough Intel technologies inside, power amazing experiences outside and makes the impossible, possible – including the way we enjoy entertainment, art, fashion, sports, music and much more. Kawehi worked with Intel Core processors to take her creativity to the next level, using a single laptop to loop, layer and record a bold sound. In the ad, Kawehi produces a unique juxtaposition of classical and modern sounds, while representing a powerful new voice for women in music.
