Continuing as one of the most prolific and unprecedented creative forces in hip-hop, FUTURE unleashes, EVOL [Epic Records/A1/Freebandz], exclusively on Apple Music today, Friday February 5 at 9pm ET.
The multiplatinum groundbreaking Atlanta hip-hop trailblazer personally announced the release as a surprise on his social media, unveiling the cover on Instagram. He ignited a groundswell of enthusiasm and, in less than an hour, #EVOL became the #3 trending topic worldwide.
Today, DJ Khaled will world premiere EVOL on his Beats 1 program, We The Best Radio, airing at 8pm ET. The record goes on sale just an hour later. Yesterday, FUTURE delivered a special treat to his fans and debuted the new track “Fly Shit Only” exclusively on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show. “Fly Shit Only” is already #14 overall and #4 on the hip-hop/rap iTunes charts and climbing.
Once again, FUTURE architects a spacey, soaring, and stunning album adding to his arsenal for masterpieces.
For the artwork, FUTURE tapped the talents of visionary Polish photographer Szymon Świętochowski and the Ars Thanea creative team. His original piece, entitled “The Ash,” now serves as the cover for EVOL, reflecting the emotions and energy of the music.
Ars Thanea publications states, “The entire Ars Thanea creative team and our friend photographer Szymon Świętochowski couldn’t be more thrilled to take part in the newest release of Future’s album “EVOL.” Before the release we worked closely with Sony/Epic Records team on licensing of the “The Ash” image that now is officially revealed as a Cover Art. We believe that our visual is a perfect fit for the entire production and we wish nothing but the best for Future and his upcoming release. Keep rocking and we look forward to working with Future on further creative projects!
PS. This is not a stock image… 😉“
The title EVOL speaks to the idea of evolution. Species evolve. Cultures evolve. Artists evolve. However, FUTURE speeds up the process yet again from the anthemic opener “Ain’t No Time” to the haze of “Xanny Family,” the gyrating grind of “Lil Haiti Baby,” and the woozy sendoff of “Low Life.”
