Toadies have just released their new video for ‘In The Belly Of A Whale’ via a premiere on Paste. The track is taken from their latest release Heretics, a stripped down, deconstructed record. The ‘darkly whimsical’ clip, according to Paste features the band playing…. in the belly of a whale amongst assorted oddball characters. Have a look here
The band is also ready to unveil details for their annual Dia De Los Toadies, now in its ninth year. The festival will take place on Saturday, June 11th at River Road Ice House in New Braunfels, Texas.
Confirmed so far in addition to the Toadies are Reverend Horton Heat, In The Whale, Emily Wolfe, Golden Meanies and Purple. Dia will have 2 stages this year with approximately 11 bands with more announcements to be made soon.
Something else that has become an annual event for the band is the release of their own special brew of beer. This year there will be two new batches appropriately titled ‘Hell Below’ and ‘Stars Above’ after their 2001 release of the same name.
The beers, produced by Martin House Brewery are the follow ups to the previously released ‘Rubberneck Red’ and ‘Bockslider.’ Cody Martin, from the brewery gives a little insight into the concoctions: “These Toadies collaborations keep getting more exciting for us. We couldn’t settle on one beer for this year so we’re doing a pair of new beers. These are going to be a bit more extreme and interesting than we’ve previously done, but we know everybody is gonna love them. The best news of all though is that we are keeping Bockslider around, perhaps forever.”
