English musician, producer and engineer, Reuben Hollebon has unveiled his latest music video for new, alternative single “Common Table.” Directed by Emma Rozanski, together she and Hollebon deliver yet another spellbinding visual.PRESS HERE to watch exclusively on Stereogum. “Common Table” is featured on Hollebon‘s forthcoming, debut album, Terminal Nostalgia (out May 20th, 2016 on Bright Antenna Records).
“The song comes from a good truth that when we eat together it benefits us all, calmly desperate for less segregation,” explains Hollebon. “And when we die we return to resting together before the next happening, regardless of belief. The music spins and cycles with this.”
Visually, “‘Common Table’ evoked strong and strange images of liquid and ash in my mind,” says director Rozanski. “And the connections that people have with water, earth and each other – a stream of images that dance.”
Largely self-produced, Terminal Nostalgia is a collection of deeply personal stories told with raw, tremulous vocals. The soundscape takes influence from Hollebon‘s time as a recording engineer for several well-known acts, including Basement Jaxx, Paul McCartney, Courtney Barnett and The London Symphony Orchestra.Terminal Nostalgia also features single “Faces,” which is currently beginning spun on AAA radiostations across the US, including KCRW, The Current, Colorado Public Radio and more.
Fresh off the heels of performing at the One Of A Million Festival in Switzerland, Hollebon will embark on a small festival run in London in the coming months, leading up to the release of his debut LP. More shows in the US, Europe and UK to be announced soon. See current tour dates listed below.
