Beauty Sleep Release New Single “The Dark”

Following in the footsteps of Snow Patrol, Two Door Cinema Club, General Fiasco, and most recently Pleasure Beach, Belfast is becoming a haven for dreamy indie bands.

Cue January 2016, cometh Beauty Sleep. A new 3-piece with striking similar tendencies to their comrades listed above. Born at a local house party, the three musicians bonded over spelling naughty words on a fridge magnet crossword. Made up of Ryan McGroarty, Cheylene Murphy and Aimee Williamson, the naughty words led to musical discussions that required further investigation, post-hangover.

It was in the studio where they really refined their skills and interests. New single ‘The Dark’ is made up of dreamy synths, fuzzy bass lines and a lot of delicious, warm chorus effects on the guitar. Following the trend of many breakthrough artists, the 3-piece insisted on a self-produced debut single in a hope to demonstrate not just their songwriting, but also their musical understanding, something that shines brightly.

One to definitely keep an eye on, Beauty Sleep’s ‘The Dark’ will be available for purchase and download Friday 19th February.

If you’re in Belfast the following week, get over to Bar Sub and catch what could well go on to become another rising star from the Northern Irish indie Scene. Give us a juke at that…
