Born and raised in the small town of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Kate Brown credits her family’s musical background in nurturing her creative side. Her desire to pursue music lead to her dropping out of college and traveling around the country peddling homemade CD’s, sleeping at truck stops and performing in coffeehouses. During an intensive course at The School at Steppenwolf in Chicago, Kate connected with fellow actor and musician, Tony Sancho. A mutual appreciation for both arts respectively lead the two to collaborate and form the Kate Brown band together. The duo has forged a strong bond that can be seen in their intuitive onstage presence.
