Habstrakt Gets Dark And Groovy In Latest EP “My People”

Emerging as one of the hottest bass music talents around at the end of 2015 was Habstrakt, the French producer and DJ who is begin to define his sound as a hybrid between dubstep, future bass and house. He has put elements of all three into his new EP “My People”, which recently saw a release through UK label Never Say Die.

It opens in style with its title track, a slow burning single that suddenly shifts into action with some swift jerks of bass and bursting energy. Next up come the wittily titled “Cheezus” and “Back”, two stellar cuts with a more bass/house leaning, still full of powerful drops. Closing proceedings is “She Goes”, something a little heavier, packed to the brim with gnarly synth work.
