Slated to open March 14, 2016, Ace Hotel New Orleans hangs its hat at 600 Carondelet in a beautiful 1928 Art Deco building, flanked by the museums and galleries of the Warehouse District. Starting today, you can book a room [acehotel.com/neworleans] at Ace New Orleans just in time for Jazz Fest (April 22 – May 1).
Ace Hotel will be programming events during New Orleans Jazz Festival and Daze Between at our newly opened Ace Hotel New Orleans. This marks our first year in NOLA and at Jazz Fest, and we’re thrilled to be working with partners including The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, WWOZ, Brian Blade and Daniel Lanois.
The historic, nine-story building stood until the 1970s as Barnett’s Furniture Store. Ace Hotel chose longtime friends Roman and Williams to design the 234-room hotel, deeply rooted in our love for the neighborhood and city. The design elements of the hotel are inspired by the Dadaists and Art Deco, as well as domestic modernism and The Bloomsbury Artists – Picasso, Braque and the Cubists. Every room has a full-sized SMEG refrigerator in a custom color, an Ace first, each overbrimming with the fresh ingredients necessary for mixing cocktails in your own room.
James Beard Award-nominated chefs Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman will showcase their signature culinary style at the hotel’s restaurant, combining the craft-centric philosophy of Italian cooking with the bright, hot flavors of the American South. The chefs have just come off participating in the 5th annual Boudin, Bourbon & Beer fundraiser benefitting local organizations like Cafe Reconcile, the Edible Schoolyard NOLA and the culinary program at NOCCA, among others. Our Pacific Northwest brethren Stumptown Coffee Roasters will open their first cafe in the South at Ace Hotel New Orleans. The New Orleans coffee bar will serve their signature espresso and hot coffee drinks and will feature an unprecedented cold brew coffee program – a reverent nod to the city that put iced coffee on the map. In addition, both Ace and Stumptown will also be working with Liberty’s Kitchen to further the good work they do for NOLA’s youth.
