The Drama State Share Original and Raw Holiday Tune

Self-proclaimed “millennial rockers” The Drama State certainly made a name for themselves in 2015. After witnessing the stellar fan reception of The Quiet Life EP, the gents wanted to dao something extra special just in time for the holidays. December is a time for reflection, and the band has reflected on holidays past in the festive yet somber “It’s Starting to Hurt a Lot Like Christmas.” The original track was written by The Drama State, produced by Chad Lehr (ex- My Hidden Track) and it’s sure to spark emotions exclusive to the beautiful, and in some cases lonely Christmas season. Of course, this isn’t your typical Christmas song – the TDS guys have masterfully ingrained their gripping and relatable lyrics into a tune fit for the season.

Vocalist Ryan Diskey had this to say about the tune: “I wrote this song around the time I spent my first Christmas alone out of a long term relationship. I’ve never been a fan of Christmas or the holiday season in general. Winters in Indiana are usually pretty bad so not only was it cold outside but it seemed like my whole life was infused with this stale, frigid kind of feeling. So I wrote this song in an attempt to release some of that.
