When the original mix of ‘Ha-Ta-Dan’ was released back in August, the debut collaboration between LA based innovator and influencer Tittsworth and “the world’s greatest dancehall-reggae boy band” T.O.K followed no rules as it straddled the genre barriers between tech house and ragga. Now, Tittsworth’s own VIP Ravin’ Refix takes things one step further with a new twist on what is already a Zulu classic.
Premiered by BBC Radio 1’s very own Annie Mac, and played by Danny Howard, Toddla T, Charlie T, DJ Target, Andi Durant, My Digital Enemy, Sam Divine, Tommy Trash, Low Steppa, Michael Woods and more to add to the original mix’s already impressive support list, it’s easy to see why this one has been causing such a commotion on the airwaves.
With the intent to lead you straight towards the dance floor, the ragga influenced vocals and bass driven house flow takes the original’s in-your-face vibe and adds a dash of stabby synths that will tick boxes for fans of Tittsworth’s early material.
Never without a trick up their sleeve, Zulu Records are not looking to slow down as 2015 draws to a close, and with further releases prepped and ready to roll before the year’s end, they’ll be hitting the ground running come 2016.
