CD REVIEW: Popular Loner by BledJon

Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, California, comes the methodical and slick style of hip-hop artistBledJon. Set to take names and eat up the competition with his demanding release of The Popular Loner, this artist is nothing short of a true professional in an industry over-saturated with artists that think they have skill.

There is something about the California music scene that is infectious and awesome. From rock acts to hip-hop artists, this place never ceases to impress, and BledJon earns his place among the top acts with his inspired track Doughnuts. This song has a solid piano sample over some old school drums, add a nice laid back rap style and this will be a favorite for many of his fans.

Moving on throughout the album BledJon doesn’t slow down the pace or miss any steps. The samples are always on point, the meaningful lyrics are always present, and the most important aspect of any musician in this genre, the voice, is always a pleasure to hear.

Letter Men is an instant classic. If you listen to one song from BledJon, this is that song. The beat is epic, the samples are sick, and his vocals are absolutely crushing. When I mentioned that he was taking names, this is exactly what I mean. There is no way you won’t be turning this track up loud in your car.

After listening to the album I knew that this artists is set to explode. Make no mistake that this is not your run-of-the-mill club rap, the lyrics here are smart, they are perfectly executed and I can’t say enough about why I consider myself a fan of BledJon. I demand honesty when it comes to the artists I give my time to, and I appreciate anyone that chooses to expose their emotions so openly for the world to see, and for this reason alone I would tell anyone that is a fan of hip-hop that they need to listen to this album as soon as they can.

A Solid effort. This is an artist to look out for…Mark my words.
