Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
We’ve been good. We’ve been really busy mostly; things are finally starting to calm down for the next couple weeks. Time to write more songs and relax for the holidays.
Can you tell us more about your upcoming track ¨Kill Tonight¨?
This track is something we’ve all been excited about from the beginning; it’s a launch in to our newer sound. A sound that’s more contemporary, mixing darker synth and bass sounds with a grooving and consistent drumbeat. It’s like a collage of odd instruments and sounds; baritone guitar, gritty, synth, octave doublers, and a very rhythmic vocal melody. It’s one of those songs that will make you get up and dance.

Did any event in particular inspire the song?
Not any event in particular, it’s a twist on the story of Jackal and Hyde. Trying to squash this evil part of yourself and then in the end having to accept it.

How was the recording and writing process?
The writing process took a little bit of time. John came up with this one riff on the synth, and slowly began adding the rest of the band and developing our ideas. The lyrics came last. They didn’t take long to write. After the idea popped in my head, the story and melody came out very quickly.
We had played the song out on the road for about 3 or 4 months then finally we were able to record it.
What was it like to work with Brian Gardner and how did that relationship develop?
It was great. We have worked with him several times before and he never disappoints. He makes everything sound so fat and dynamic.
Any plans to hit the road?
We’ve been touring pretty consistently for the last 9 to 10 months, and in the new year we plan to tour a lot more! We are finally talking about getting out to the east coast in the end of February. We will be heading back to the South, West coast and the mid west! Can’t wait to get back out and see everyone. We love being on the road and all the adventures that come with it.

What else is happening next in BANDITS´ world?
A lot more recording and touring will be happening in the new year!
