Hi DeLon, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I’ve been great, thank you! I started my tour with Eric Bellinger and it has been pretty amazing so far. We have done 6 dates and 6 cities. We have 8 more to go! It’s exhausting but great — the crowds are so intense that I almost lost my voice after the second show! Crazy times right now but I am adjusting as I go along.

Can you tell us more about the story behind your track ¨For Real¨?

“For Real” is about making a statement and having fun at the same time. The song is embedded in the very unusually fake Los Angeles that I have experienced. I say unusual because in other places in the world it is not nearly prevalent as it is in Los Angeles. It is a light hearted song with what I believe is an impactful message. I hope people like it and share it!

Did any event in particular inspire the song?

Not really, just overall living in LA. Watching TV and seeing celebrities and how they act trips me out sometimes. But I also have to realize there is a lot filtering done by the part of the media to twist their words. I would say the overall mindset that has been sensationalized in TV and music to make women feel the need to enhance themselves and men stronger or act richer than they are  — and then flagrantly flaunt it — can be dangerous to younger generations psyche. That behavior in all media makes little kids and young teens believe that as being real.

How was the film experience?

It was awesome! I love acting so I can’t wait to put this mini—movie out.

How was the recording and writing process?

It is like the process for most creative things — sometimes its fun, sometimes its arduous, sometimes its boring. There are so many steps so I don’t have the luxury of just doing the fun part all the time, yet. But all in all it was great. There was so much to talk about and write about. I was excited to be so involved with the development of this EP.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new album – how´s that coming along?

Absolutely! I have an new EP coming out next year and another EP coming out next year. Also, we are planning a collaboration project, too. It will be amazing to work with likeminded artists — I am hoping you guys love all the releases.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

We are looking at late March for the Awake EP. The  project will be called Awake Collaboration and that will be later in the year.

How has been the road treating you so far?

It gets a little tiring, but I am fortunate to have a great road manager and manager that make my life much simpler and easier. I love working with them both a lot!

What´s been like to share the stage with Eric Bellinger?

Eric is a consumate performer with so much energy and swag its crazy. He’s an inspiration. He has so much music out. It is truly impressive!

Any plans to do a live collab?

I don’t know yet, but I would love to. Just need to let the stars align.

What else is happening next in DeLon´s world?

Man lots of things –this second EP and the Collab project. It has been pretty crazy. But I keep working until we get the right song and the right album and work our way to success.
