Hi guys, welcome back to VENTS! How have you been?
Good thanks guys.
Can you tell us more about the story behind your track ¨Love Never Dies¨?
Yeah, we’ve always been a band that puts the melody and song writing first as opposed to being a particular thing, but this track is me trying to see how far I could go with the ballad side of things, I wanted to create a big heavy piano ballad, kind of Adele meets Metallica! I think it’s fairly close to that!
Did any event in particular inspire the song?
The lyrics are about some things going on within my personal life to do with family members. I don’t want to get too specific, but broadly the song is about dealing with the loss of a loved one, seeing them slowly fade away from the person they used to be and hoping to be reunited with them at some point. Kind of similar to the title track in that it is trying to take a positive outlook on the post-death experience.
How was the film experience?
It was great. We filmed the majority of the video at Sitcom Soldiers Studios in Bolton. Then took the set outside to do the final shots. We worked with Dominic Gregory who produced the video for us, awesome guy, he’s done a stellar job right from the initial meetings we had to discuss the concept right up to receiving the final edit.
The single comes off your new album In Vain – what´s the story behind the title?
The title was kind of given to the lyrics. Of course ‘Love Never Dies’ is also the title of an Andrew Lloyd Webber play, I remember seeing the title in print years ago when it came out and thinking it was a really cool title. So when I was working on the lyrics that idea came to the surface again and it worked well so I worked it into the words and that’s how it came about.
Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?
Inspiration can come from anywhere, I normally write about things that mean something to me, either from personal events or my feelings about outside events too. Usually the music comes first and that is just organic. I write what I want to hear, I may have a particular feel I want to achieve, but normally it’s just whatever comes out.
Any plans to hit the road?
Yeah we are currently in the process of sorting out our plans for 2016, already got some dates confirmed. We are trying to get some ‘outside help’ sorta speak to help with our aspirations for touring too, so hopefully we are going to be able to hit the road hard real soon!
What else is happening next in Immension´s world?
We want get out and start touring to promote the record and the immediate plans are to pursue that. Like I said we are trying to work with people who can get us better opportunities for shows and the like so as well as booking our own stuff we are trying to make that happen. Outside of that, we are probably going to do a third video for this release towards the end of the summer, then in 2017 we are going to start working on our next album to hopefully get it out for the end of that year.
