Other People (@_otherpeople) Premieres New Track by I.F.O. feat Afrika Bambaataa

In anticipation of their upcoming four-night residency at Trans-Pecos in Ridgewood, Queens, Other People is premiering I.F.O. featuring Afrika Bambaataa’s “Nibiru,” which can be streamed/shared at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJQuS22vx70. Bambaataa talks about the new project, which was recorded at the Other People Studios:

I.F.O. Means Identified Flying Object like U.F.O means Unidentified Flying Object.

We are Identified and we off to Nibiru to seek help with the Intergalactic Command Force of The Federation of Planets, to detour Humans Destruction of Each other in this day and time on Earth.

The four-night Other People residency at Trans-Pecos runs December 8-11 featuring a broad cross-section of both genre-defining artists and emerging experimental musicians. Performances include a vinyl-only DJ set by Afrika Bambaataa, a rare one-night-only set from Lydia Lunch’s ground-breaking No Wave group Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, a three-hour DJ set by Nicolas Jaar in the 100-capacity venue basement, William Basinski live, an improvised set from Bladerunner (Jaar, Dave Harrington, Will Epstein, Tlacael Esparza, Samer Ghadry) with Arto Lindsay, an after party on December 8 celebrating the venue’s two-year anniversary and more. See below for a full schedule.

Launched in the summer of 2013, Other People is a record label founded by Chilean electronic composer Nicolas Jaar. The label has released a large volume of Jaar’s experimental recordings as well as works from like-minded artists including Lydia Lunch, William Basinski and Lucretia Dalt.
