Method Man, Raekwon, & Inspectah Deck Team Up For “The Purple Tape”‏

n late August Method Man released his highly anticipatednew collaborative project, The Meth Lab, stacked with features from iconic rappers and MCs on the rise. Today the celebrated rapper and pop-culture icon has dropped the official music video for his gritty, old school street anthem “The Purple Tape,” teaming up with fellow Wu-Tang Clan members Raekwon and Inspectah Deck. Also joining the stand-out track is Mef’s son, Rae Butta aka Raekwon, who lays down the chorus to the record reinforcing Ol Dirty Bastard’s bold declaration,  “Wu-Tang is for the children.” The video for the J57produced record isn’t an attack, but a warning – solidifying that after three decades these legendary Staten Island emcees are still on top with legions of Wu-heads behind them.Again tapping the directorial talents of The Last American B-Boy, the creative mind also behind the official “Straight Gutta” music video, “The Purple Tape” released worldwide today exclusively on Uproxx – watch here:
