Who’s Tracks in Motion? How you all met and started this band?

Tracks In Motion is Griffin Rechter(Guitar), Skiles Kelley(Guitar), Robert Bogle (Drums), Ben Balthazar(Bass). All of the members of Tracks In Motion met through music. Through various music camps we attended we all met, it helped that almost all of our family members have musical connections. We’ve all been good friends for a while now, it all kind of just fell together one day when we were offered a gig at Jet Lounge, after the show we decided we wanted to continue playing together because we had such a good reaction from our first show, and received so much support.

What’s the story behind the band’s name?

The name ‘Tracks In Motion’ is a name we keep secret, one day people will know.

What are your music influences?

We all have different influences some of the major ones as a band are Periphery, Animals As Leaders, Of Mice & Men, John Mayer, and Dream Theater. Robert Bogle’s (Drums) biggest influences are The Rev, Jerod Boyd, and Valentino Arteaga. Griffin Rechter’s (Guitar) biggest influences are his teachers for making him better and his father for getting him into music. Skiles Kelley’s (Guitar) biggest influences are Brian Haner Jr., and his father for teaching him so much. Ben Balthazar’s biggest influences are Johnny Christ and Of Mice & Men.

So for you guys, what are the CONs and PROs of being young in the music industry based on your personal experiences?

The PROs are we have plenty of time to get better and we have a lot of energy on stage and always try our best to put on a good show. Being young we have more experience with the internet in comparison to older bands who might not be as savvy with the Internet, therefore we are able to promote ourselves well and get our name out there more easily.

The CONs are that we are not always taken seriously, but what matters to us is that people like us and see that age does not matter.

What has been the funniest moment you guys have been or took part while playing a gig?

One of the funniest moments was at our show June 15th at Warehouse Live we were supposed to close our set with a cover of Unholy Confessions by Avenged Sevenfold and before we began playing it we were talking and then we led into the first riff of the song with the drums and guitar. As we began playing Griffin’s amp turned off for some reason, but he thought it was the volume pedal so we counted off again and it still didn’t work so after another time we figured out that the plug got turned off. It got awkward for a second as the main riff was missing from the beginning but we played through the song and it ended up being a crowd favorite.

Are there any plans for the near future we should be aware of? Music video, album, label, tour? Can you give us more details about it?

We’d love for a label and a music video, but we are a new band that stuff comes with time. We will have a demo out soon with some of the songs we play live that aren’t recorded yet. As for a tour, we would love a tour but for now we might do a small tour around Texas and play Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Houston and maybe some other stops. We’re fortunate enough to work with Stephen Bogle Music, so we are very excited about our demo. Until we get a label and a tour we will continue to get better and find our real sound, we are very excited for what’s to come. For now you can get our single for free on Reverbnation, www.reverbnation.com/tracksinmotion and like us Facebook www.facebook.com/tracksinmotion to stay posted on show dates, and demo information.

Do you guys feel you are moving on the right direction as a band?

Yeah, I think we are all on the same page pretty much in terms of what we want to do musically. We are all young so we have time to change our minds but we want to tour and share our music with everyone. We like being able to hang out with the people at our shows. Bands should get together and have a good time and do what they love and Tracks In Motion does just that. We are all super close on and off the stage, we all feel like we are moving in the right direction as a band. Thank you to Vents Magazine for the opportunity to let people know who we are and what we are about, definitely helps us move in the direction we want to go.
