Beta State members Adrian Robison (Drums),Ryan Hernandez (Guitar) and Justin Kastner (Bass) spent about a year auditioning vocalists until they completed their four-piece lineup with Matt McDonald.  Once their lineup was finalized they recorded and released their first album “Stars,” which landed them on bills with notable artists such as Green Day, Linkin Park, Mumford and Sons, Florence + The Machine, Bush, Young The Giant, The Strokes, Neon Trees, Airborne Toxic Event, Foster The People, Manchester Orchestra, Awolnation, Innerpartysystem, and Dredg.  After playing with Linkin Park, Beta State was given a shout out on Mike Shinoda’s (Linkin Park) blog and Twitter.  The story made front-page news on Live 105′s online blog.

Working closely in North Hollywood with producer Erik Ron who has worked with bands Panic! At The Disco, Hit The Lights, The Academy Is, Saosin and more, as well as in their home studio in San Francisco, Beta State sought out to craft a fresh sound, that could easily lend itself to alternative radio, while still bringing something unique to the music scene. Always keeping listeners on their toes, the album includes a very lush cover of Bjork’s “Unravel,” as well as eight dubstep/dance remixes from some of the best up-and-coming DJ’s in the local San Francisco and Los Angeles electronic scene. #FRIENDSHIP is sure to satisfy rock and electronic fans alike.

Zero, the highly-anticipated dystopian concept album by HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS, hits stores on June 25, 2013. “Just to give everyone a bit of insight on the concept behind the record – Zero, at its core, is a story of good and evil,” explains HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS drummer Eron Bucciarelli. “The setting is a dystopian future where a totalitarian corporation has risen to power in the wake of a disaster, “The Fires”. Zero is an account of the events from the perspective of the main character in the story, “Baker”. The album’s track listing is based upon those events.”

Eron continues, “The story takes place in 2017 – or so THEY would like you to believe. In reality, the year is 2015. The people know little, they’re angry, and they know something isn’t right; that they’ve been lied to! Life used to be so nice, they used to be kids – driving around with friends, listening to music – no cares in the world. And as bad as things would sometimes get back then, they are nothing in comparison to what the people are experiencing now. This is only the tip of the iceberg. To delve deeper into the story, you’ll have to delve deeper into Zero.”

The album art for Zero was designed by Jeff Chenault at Eleven07 (www.eleven07.com), who also spearheaded the art direction along with HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS vocalist/guitarist JT Woodruff.

Zero, a concept album which will serve as the band’s 5th full-length album, is produced by Brian Virtue (30 Seconds To Mars, Chevelle, Audioslave) and promises to be the band’s most ambitious record yet! This album is set to shatter all previous records and add to the already 1.7 million albums that the band has sold in the U.S. alone. Zero poses a theme that, no matter how hard life gets or how many seemingly insurmountable odds you may encounter, everyone can get a fresh start. This theme is set against a dystopian, war-ravaged background.

RISE RECORDS is proud to announce the signing of legendary hardcore band 7 SECONDS to its family of artists. Forming in Reno, NV in January 1980, 7 Seconds was the originator of the West Coast Hardcore sound that influenced just about every hardcore band including; Youth of Today, Gorilla Biscuits and modern day bands like Title Fight and American Nightmare. It is safe to say the band helped start the “Youth Crew” sound. Releasing an EP called “Walk Together, Rock Together” in 1985 officially put them on the map.Their positive lyrical content influenced so many youths over the years and they weren’t afraid to push the envelope.

Staying tried and true to their sound, 7 Seconds is back in full effect with a ton of new songs for a 7” and shortly after that, a new full length album. The guys will be heading into the studio this summer in Sacramento to begin the recording process. Amazingly enough, the band still has its original 3 members from 1982: Kevin Seconds, Steve Youth and Troy Mowat, plus Bobby Adams, who has been with the band since 1986. Kevin Seconds, the singer and songwriter, had this to say about the new 7” and forthcoming album, “we have about 20 new songs that we’ll record the best 13 songs from. This new record will be all about the energy and drive we still very much possess as a hardcore band. It’s been 9 long years since we’ve recorded a new album so there’s a great deal of urgency in them, with just the right mixture of both fast and mid-tempo tunes for people to sink their teeth into.“

The next few years will be exciting times for 7 Seconds and Rise Records; lots of new music, tours and talks of re-releasing back catalog for a special edition vinyl box-set. More rumors include the possible recording of their first 20 songs written in 1979 in which only 3 were recorded using a hand held tape recorder. In the meantime, get ready for some 7 Seconds, 1..2..3…Go!

Rolling Stone magazine has awarded JOHN FOGERTY’s much-anticipated new album WROTE A SONG FOR EVERYONE its very highest rating—a rare 5 stars—and tags the lead review on the cover, “John Fogerty’s All-Star Revival.”

The album is due out this Tuesday, May 28, the same day FOGERTY–one of rock’s most important artists and a national treasure who’s sold over 100 million albums–will perform a sold-out, one-night-only album release and birthday bash concert the El Rey in Los Angeles. May 28 also marks the birthday of the Grammy Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. The intimate show, which starts at 8:30 PM Pacific time, will be filmed and broadcast live on AXS TV.

Writing in Rolling Stone, David Fricke says: “The result is some of the best new music Fogerty has made since, well, Creedence. WROTE A SONG FOR EVERYONE marks the singer, songwriter and guitarist’s ninth studio solo album since disbanding Creedence Clearwater Revival.  Mixed by Bob Clearmountain, it was recorded in Los Angeles and Nashville except for “Proud Mary” which was recorded in New Orleans with Allen Toussaint and the Rebirth Brass Band.  FOGERTY recorded “Fortunate Son” with Foo Fighters at their 606 studio using “the” legendary Neve recording console featured in the #1 iTunes documentary Sound City. A celebration of FOGERTY’s iconic songbook, the much-anticipated album is a collection of 12 classics and deep tracks (Creedence Clearwater Revival and solo material) from his remarkable canon of hits recorded in collaboration with today’s biggest superstars from the country, pop and rock worlds, plus two brand new solo songs.

On the concert front, JOHN FOGERTY is set for two festival appearances. Brown’s debut EP, Building Castles, has received the praise of critics and tastemakers alike. Glamour.com applauded the EP, writing that, “the songs…have a feeling of worn-in comfort.
