INTERVIEW: Robyn & Tiago

Hi folks, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hey, Thanks for having us, we are Amazing Thank you but very busy.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Kiss and Tell”?

Since working with the legendary songwriter/producer Steve Dorff via skype/facetime sending tracks and ideas back and fourth. In October 2016 we flew to Los Angeles, Calabasas and worked together in the studio in Burbank. The day before we flew back to London he played us this song in his house that he had produced, it was “Kiss & Tell”. Straight away we got harmonies figured out and it was like a song we wrote ourselves. So he sent us the stems of the production and we recorded and engineered it in our Recording Studio. Then Steve Dorff played this ‘Gangsta west coast’ keys on top. Mixed and mastered and its now out everywhere.

Kiss & tell quote;

“If you have someone Special that really rides for you don’t keep it on the low. Show her of to the world because behind every successful man is a strong woman.”

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Yesssss. We shot the video in Los Angeles Produced/Directed by ourselves the release date is Monday 16th April 5pm.

How was the recording process?

It was a really fun track to record, we recorded in our home studio and sent it back to Steve to mix and master.

What was it like to work with Steve Dorff and how did that relationship develop?

Steve is not only our Mentor but also a dear friend.  Steve had originally listened to our tracks/videos and sent us some demos to record and make them our own. We have since recorded numerous tracks together and he even mentioned working with us in his new book.

What role does London play in your music?

In Our mixtape we have something for everyone we have the American tracks Produced by Steve and we also have the Hip hop tracks produced by Tiago and written by ourselves.

What aspect of the Latin music you always seek to explore on this record?

Tiago is Latino (Portuguese) so anything his on, it will have his Latin influence, some songs more than others. Just wait for the mixtape later this year..

Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else rather than in your own?

No, We put our own signature on everything we do regardless if it’s a feature or our own record.

How’s your new album coming along?

We release our mixtape “Know Your Worth” as our debut project later this year. I would say we are 70% finished at this moment. Just in the process of getting features, mixing some tracks and 4/5 new tracks that we are writing before its fully completed.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

“Know Your Worth” is the tittle of Our Mixtape, due for release later this year. Follow us on our social media to find out @RobynTiago

Any plans to hit the road?

That’s something we actually started to put in plan already.

What else is happening next in Robyn & Tiago’s world?

We are currently working on our New clothing line putting together new designs and ideas which we are extremely excited about, filming our documentary about our journey to success, the release of our mixtape later this year and our UK tour.
