French-American alt-pop musician and visual artist, CLARA-NOVA (moniker of Sydney Wayser), has unveiled a new visual for her single “Echo,” premiering exclusively viaBOOOOOOOM!Directed by Clara Aranovich using a 35mm Quadroscopic camera, the video follows Wayser around LA neighborhoods and parks, providing charming snapshots of her experiences interspersed with explosive moments of kinetic, joyful movement. Watch “Echo”here.
The video arrives on the heels of CLARA-NOVA‘s new EP THE IRON AGE, which was released last month via Kobalt Music Recordings. Produced by Shawn Everett (Julian Casablancas, Alabama Shakes, John Legend, Lucius), THE IRON AGE pushes forward Wayser‘s melodic alt-pop sound with emotive lyrics and captivating new sonic elements.
Wayser has been working on a photo installation tied to the EP titled IRON // GOLD, which will debut this summer at a multi-media show in LA. The art installation expands on each of the EP’s songs and lyrics in a visual format, with photos shot in collaboration with some of Wayser‘s favorite LA-based photographers that speak of transparent walls and hidden boundaries that we place on ourselves and on each other.
