FRED ABBOTT releases deluxe edition + new video + live dates

Fred Abbott to release a deluxe version his debut solo album, Serious Poke, with 6 bonus acoustic tracks, remixes and a new radio mix of “Funny How Good It Feels”.

Funny How Good It Feels, originally premiered as a free download in The Guardian, has proven to be a live favourite with Fred Abbott fans.  The track has now been remixed by Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Jamie Lawson) and will be included in a new deluxe release of Abbott’s debut album Serious Poke.

The accompanying lyric video has a touch of ironic joie de vivre in its tongue-in-cheek homage to questionable 80’s TV advertising, channel hopping and VHS living: https://youtu.be/g1wRwFIdPFI

Following a bout of face-melting live shows – including a sensational set at Cornbury Festival, supporting The Zombies and sold-out headline shows at The Borderline & The Islington – Fred crammed his band into his songwriting studio to record three live & acoustic videos for album favourites Awake, Honey and One Hot Night.  These recordings will also be included with the new deluxe release of the album.

If you’ve not been paying attention, Fred is a supremely talented multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, who joined Noah And The Whale in 2009 and had huge success, notably with his contribution to their 2011 Platinum-selling and highly acclaimed Last Night On Earth album.

Abbott enlisted the help of his NATW compadres, and other talented friends, for the recording of Serious Poke, with sessions taking place at West London’s British Grove Studios.  The album was co-produced by Fred with Martin Hollis, whose diverse credits include Grinderman, The Rolling Stones and Take That.

The deluxe edition of Fred Abbott’s Serious Poke, will be released on 9th September on British indie label Lojinx.
